The Working Ranch Challenge was created to simulate and educate proper ranch horse and cattle handling techniques through three competitions:
Ranch Roping
Prowling Challenge
Ranch Penning
WRC Event Sanctioning Available
Event History
- All events will simulate real working ranch conditions as much as possible. Handling of cattle etc. will all be done with as little exertion as possible.
Event Highlights
- 3D Format with payouts in all divisions, and All-Around.
- Roping will be conducted in a smaller pen, using a specifically designed Break-away honda. (Magic Honda)
- Penning will utilize a small pen and sort off one numbered animal, only at a walk or trot.
- Prowling Challenge will use obstacles similar to those that are found on working ranches.
